Creating an A1 Size Poster in Microsoft Publisher 2010
Creating an A1 Size Poster
Open Microsoft Publisher 2010 and you will be shown the Create New page; which offers a range of
templates and designs to work from:
None of these options is currently A1 size, so we will need to create this by selecting More Blank
Page Sizes.
On the next screen you need to select Create new page size…
A new dialogue box will pop-up and you can complete the options as shown below (for a Landscape
poster).
You can now repeat that process for creating a Portrait poster:
Select Create new page size…
The dialogue box will pop-up again and you can complete the options as shown below (for a Portrait
poster).
Under the Custom Blank Page Sizes – you will now see that you have your two new A1 Poster sizes
available:
Select the style you want to use:
Landscape for wide / short
Portrait for tall / thin
You are now ready to begin work on your poster.
Working with Publisher
Please note: Publisher works with everything in blocks / boxes.
Before you can add text to the pages – you must insert a box to
hold it.
Click on Draw Text Box and then use your mouse to draw the text
box on the screen. You can fill this box with text, images, links, etc.
The boxes of content can be dragged around on the screen, re-sized and re-ordered however you
please. Imagine the layout of a newspaper with a mix of columns content and images.
